Uganda Premier League contenders Vipers SC have made a decisive early move in the transfer window, securing the signature of Uganda Cranes midfielder Joel Sserunjogi on a three-year deal.

The Kitende-based club confirmed the development on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, via their official website, describing the midfielder’s arrival as a key addition ahead of a demanding campaign.

Sserunjogi joins Vipers as a free agent after seeing out his contract at KCCA FC, where he established himself as one of the league’s most composed and intelligent midfield operators.

Renowned for his expansive passing range, tactical discipline, and composure in tight situations, the midfielder is expected to bring balance and control to the Vipers engine room.

His acquisition signals clear intent from the Venoms as they bolster their squad for a packed season that includes domestic and regional assignments, as well as continental football.

Vipers are set to compete in the Uganda Premier League, Uganda Cup, CECAFA Kagame Cup, and the CAF Champions League—competitions that demand both squad depth and elite-level consistency.

Sserunjogi becomes the club’s first signing of the current transfer window, underlining Vipers’ proactive approach as they seek to strengthen early and build momentum ahead of the new season.
