Kyantamba had earlier suffered a controversial narrow 17–16 defeat to Nankabirwa in the Group B decider, but rose to the occasion when it mattered most, overturning that result in a high-stakes final defined by composure and tactical discipline.

Their championship run was anything but straightforward.

Entering the knockout stage as Group B runners-up, Kyantamba displayed grit in the quarter-finals, overcoming Group C leaders High Standard – Kateera 19–17.

They then produced a commanding semi-final performance to dispatch Amazing Grace Secondary School 23–20, sealing their place in the final.

Nankabirwa Memorial, equally impressive en route to the final, showcased their attacking prowess with a dominant 30–17 victory over Homeland Secondary School in the quarter-finals.

They followed it up with a hard-fought 20–17 win against Busiika Muslim Secondary School in the semi-finals to set up a rematch with Kyantamba.

The final itself lived up to expectation—a fiercely contested encounter marked by intensity and fine margins.

Kyantamba held their nerve in the closing stages to clinch a 25–23 victory, completing a remarkable turnaround against their group-stage conquerors.

Kyantamba’s rapid ascent continues to underline the growing influence of head coach Ephraim Mujabi, whose tactical acumen has reshaped the team into a formidable force within a short period.

The unwavering support from the school’s administration and staff has also played a crucial role in sustaining this upward trajectory.

Both finalists, alongside Amazing Grace, Busiika Muslim, Saviour High School, and High Standard – Kateera, have secured qualification to represent Luweero Zone at the 2026 USSSA National Championship.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from July 8 to 19 at Sacred Heart Secondary School in Gulu, where the region’s top sides will compete for national supremacy.
