SC Villa missed the opportunity to climb to the top of the Uganda Premier League standings after being held to a goalless draw by Blacks Power at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, on Tuesday.
The Jogoos dominated periods of the contest but lacked the cutting edge to translate their attacking pressure into goals against a well-organised visiting side.
Innocent Maduka squandered a late opportunity to snatch victory for Villa, heading wide from a promising position as Blacks Power held firm to secure a valuable point.
Villa had several opportunities to break the deadlock, with Patrick Kakande coming closest in the 68th minute.
The forward stretched to connect with Andrew Okumu’s delivery but sent his effort narrowly wide.
Frank Sebuufu also threatened with two headed attempts, while John Asiimwe repeatedly delivered crosses from the left flank.

However, Bashir Asiku and John Paul Acire marshalled the Blacks Power defence effectively.
Earlier, goalkeeper Odongkara had produced a crucial goal-line clearance in the eighth minute to deny Isaac Mpangi from close range.
Geoffrey Lubangakene also missed a chance to put the hosts ahead before half-time, directing his 43rd-minute header inches wide.
Blacks Power’s disciplined defensive display ultimately frustrated Villa, who entered the match knowing a win would take them to the summit.
The result leaves Villa second with 18 points, while Blacks Power remain fifth on 13 points after eight matches.
