The matchday eleven of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League concludes today, with Express FC travelling to face KCCA FC in a highly anticipated derby at the MTN-Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

KCCA FC is eager to bounce back to winning ways after a three-game winless streak.

The Kasasiro Boys have collected only draws in their last three outings, including a 1-1 stalemate against Lugazi on the road.

In contrast, Express FC secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Mbarara City in their previous game at Nakivubo.

However, Express FC is yet to register an away win this season, and their poor defensive record on the road, having conceded six goals in four games, may pose a significant challenge.

KCCA FC has been solid at home, conceding only once in five games this season.

The Red Eagles will be seeking to replicate their performance from last season, where they defeated KCCA 2-1 at Lugogo.

However, the hosts have a slight edge in their head-to-head encounters, having won 12 of the previous 31 meetings, while Express FC has secured five victories, with 14 matches ending in stalemates.

A win for KCCA FC will propel them to 22 points, just one point behind table leaders NEC FC, while Express FC will leapfrog to fourth position with 19 points, level with their opponents, if they secure a victory.

KCCA FC will be without the services of Derrick Nsibambi, Filbert Obenchan, Ibrahim Juma, Elvis Mwanje, and Abubaker Mayanja due to injuries, while defender Hassan Muhamud is suspended.

Teenager Brian Ijara is away with the U17 National Team, preparing for the AFCON U17 CECAFA zonal qualifiers.

Peter Magambo and goalkeeper Anthony Emojong are back in contention, while Shafik Nana Kiwkiriza and young goalkeeper Humphrey Oyirwoth have completed their UACE papers and are available for selection.

Express FC will be missing Dauson and Adabati due to sickness and injury, respectively, while Saidi Kyeyune returns from suspension.
