After a famous last preliminary round triumph via penalty shout-out against DR. Congo’s TP Mazembe, Uganda Premier League reigning champions Vipers Sports Club have confirmed their group opponents in the CAF Champions League this afternoon.

 

The development was confirmed after draws conducted on Monday afternoon, and Vipers SC were pooled with three-time winners Raja Casablanca of Morocco, Simba SC of Tanzania and Horoya AC from Guinea Conakry.

 

Vipers who from the start of the campaign eliminated Central African Republic champions Real de Bangui in the first preliminary round before a hard fought triumph against Democratic Republic of Congo giant TP Mazembe in the second-preliminary round to make the group stages, will seek to make history to qualify for ever first knockout stage in the competition.

 

The CAF Champions League group stage matches shall be held next year in February as the Venoms make maiden appearance at the prestigious top-tier club football competition.
