Uganda Cranes is set to withdraw from CHAN due to lack of financial support, Federation of Uganda Football Association president Moses Magogo has revealed.

“It is sad for U23, We are left with no further option but to withdraw the Uganda Cranes from CHAN finals because ministry of Finance has not provided the funds as appropriate by Parliament

“The sanctions will affect the future if we don’t take the hard decision now.Sorry for the players and coaches who qualified the team but it is the moment to face reality.”

Algeria will host CHAN next year featuring players that only trade brands in their local respective leagues.

This will be the sixth successive time Uganda Cranes appearance having featured at the 2011, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 editions.
