Matchday five of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League kicked off on Wednesday evening with two games.

Police FC fought back to force a 2-2 draw with Express FC, while Lugazi shared spoils with Mbale Heroes in a 1-1 draw.

In Kavumba, Police scored a equalizer late to force a 2-2 draw with Express FC. Isaac Ogwang netted a brace for Simon Peter Mugerwa’s side, while Samuel Ssenyonjo scored twice for the visitors.

Isaac Ogwang scored in the 33rd minute to give Police the halftime lead. Samuel Ssenyonjo equalized in the first two minutes of the second half to turn the score to 1-1.

Ssenyonjo doubled the lead for the Red Eagles with twelve minutes to the final whistle, but Ogwang denied Express victory when he scored from the spot in the 90+3 minute as the two settled for a 2-all draw.

Now, Express FC are third on the log with 8 points, while Police FC sits 7th with 7 points.

In the next game, Express FC will host Lugazi FC on October 22, 2024, while Police FC will visit Vipers SC three days later.
