In a thrilling finale, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana clinched the title of the USSSA Elite Games girls’ football championship, defeating Kawempe Muslim SS 3-0 on Saturday morning at St Joseph’s of Nazareth Mpigi.

The victory marked a triumphant conclusion to the 6th edition of the Elite Games.

The winning side, coached by Jimmy Kintu, demonstrated exceptional skill, dominance and strategy throughout the match.

Defender Nancy Mandera set the tone for the game with a stunning long-range free kick in the 10th minute, giving her team an early lead.

This impressive goal was reminiscent of a similar strike she had scored against Kawempe Muslim in the FUFA Elite league the previous year.

Brenda Nassaka further extended St. Noa’s lead with a well-executed press, capitalizing on the failure of Kawempe’s defense to clear a corner kick.

The first half concluded with St Noa leading 2-0. The second half saw Imelda Kasemire seal the victory for St Noa with a beautifully crafted goal, originating from a midfield maneuver.

Although she did not score in the final match, Sylvia Kabene, St Noa’s forward, emerged as the tournament’s top scorer with an impressive tally of 12 goals.

In the classification fixture, Uganda Martyrs High School secured a bronze medal by defeating Boni Concilli 2-1.
