MOROGORO, TANZANIA — St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde maintained their perfect start to the 2026 Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games with a nerve-shredding 64-63 victory over Kenya’s Lukenya Boys School in Morogoro.
The Mukono-based side survived a pulsating contest at the Highlands Sports Complex courts, holding their composure in a tense finale to make it two wins from two in the boys’ basketball competition.
Lukenya Boys set the early pace, taking the opening quarter 22-19, but St Cyprian responded decisively in the second period, edging it 12-11 to trim the deficit to two points at the interval.
The Ugandans then seized control in the third quarter, outscoring their Kenyan opponents 21-15 to establish a 52-48 advantage heading into the final period.
Lukenya refused to surrender, winning the fourth quarter 15-12 in a fiercely physical finish.
St Cyprian, however, held on by the narrowest of margins to complete a memorable victory.
Choul Thon led the way for the Ugandan representatives with a game-high 21 points, while Mustapha Hamulli, Joseph Ngaya, George Agandi, Sijin Makeng and captain Chut Agok also made important contributions.
Fortune, Iraku and Atuer were among Lukenya Boys’ standout performers in a contest that remained finely balanced until the final moments.
The victory follows St Cyprian’s commanding 77-43 opening-day triumph over Tanzania’s Nsumba High School, leaving the Ugandan outfit with a flawless two-from-two record.
Their latest success further underlines St Cyprian’s credentials as they seek to make a significant mark on the regional stage.
The 2026 FEASSA Games will be officially opened on Sunday, 16 August, at the historic Jamhuri Stadium in the heart of Morogoro City.
