Young, dynamic, and supremely talented midfielder Steven Mugisha is on the brink of being unveiled by SC Villa after all key aspects of the transfer were successfully finalized.

The highly rated youngster has been released by Buganda Regional side Kira United, clearing the path for his move to the Uganda Premier League record champions.

Mugisha has already spent close to ten days training with the Jogoos, signaling the club’s firm intent to integrate him swiftly into the squad.

Mugisha’s rise has been both steady and impressive, having developed through multiple school teams.

He featured for Kasawo Secondary School in 2019, Latifah Mixed Secondary School between 2020 and 2023, and later Bukedea Comprehensive School from 2024 to 2025.

At Bukedea, he played a pivotal role in guiding the school to the 2025 FEASSA title, underlining his pedigree as a big-game performer.

Beyond school football, Mugisha has also excelled in other local competitions.

Last year, he captained Buluuli to top the highly competitive Bulange Group with 19 points, finishing ahead of Busujju and Ssese, while traditional sides Buddu and Gomba failed to progress from the group.

He currently serves as captain of Bulemeezi in the ongoing Masaza Cup, further demonstrating his leadership credentials.

At SC Villa, Mugisha is expected to fill the void left by Misi Diego Ssemugera, who recently completed a move to Kitara FC.

Should his unveiling proceed as anticipated, he will become Villa’s second signing of the current transfer window, following the arrival of John Asiimwe from Express FC.

Mugisha’s signature has not come without competition.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA FC) had also expressed strong interest in securing his services as a potential replacement for Joel Sserunjogi, who joined Vipers SC.

Meanwhile, Villa have recently seen the departures of Elvis Ngondwe and Charles Lwanga Neymar, both of whom moved to KCCA FC.

With his blend of technical quality, leadership, and proven winning mentality, Mugisha’s arrival could mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for SC Villa’s midfield.
