National Men’s 50 Over League: Tornado Bee start season against ACC, Serenity Oval to host top of table clash

The Serenity Oval in Kamengo will host its 1st ever National Cricket League match, and it’s a top of the table clash between the hosts Ceylon Lions in second and table toppers Wanderers.

Wanderers find themselves at the top of the pack after picking up wins against ACC and SKLPS.

Ceylon Lions has also won two games, against Challengers and ACC, and are only in behind Wanderers on net run rate difference.

The Serenity Oval was developed in 2020 by Serenity Group led by Ruwan Jayaratne, the Group CEO and proprietor of Ceylon Lions.

The oval is located along Kampala-Masaka highway in Kamengo, about 50kms from Kampala and sits on at least four acres of land. The Serenity Oval will be the home ground for the Ceylon Lions.

Ceylon Lions will need Deus Muhumuza, Shahzad Kamal, Falak Sha and David Wabwire to carry the burden of the team while Wanderers have added veteran Frank Nsubuga to the side for the weekend game and will work with Cricket Cranes Captain Brian Masaba to get over Ceylon Lions.

Other games on the weekend menu card are Tornado Bee who are to get their season underway against ACC at the University Oval in Kyambogo.

Tornado Bee, former winners of the league, is a tried and tested side and know when to come up with the goods when required.

ACC have lost two games this season against Ceylon Lions and Wanderers and if they are to survive the drop they need to start winning.

Nile Cricket Club will also get their season underway when they take on the on form Aziz Damani Development.

Aziz Damani Development is the on form team of the second division as they have blown away everything in their path with Premier their last victim.

Nile is far from their glory days and doing a rebuilding job to make sure they can come back to the top flight but that is a not a one-year process and will surely take time.

Damani is a huge favourite to make it three in three in this encounter.

Weekend Matches

1. Wanderers v Ceylon Lions – Kamengo 10am

2. Nile v Aziz Damani Development – Entebbe 10am

3. Tornado Bee v ACC – Kyambogo 10am
