The Cricket Cranes strengthened their bid for an ILT20 Continent Cup final berth with a commanding five-wicket victory over Botswana at Gahanga International Cricket Stadium in Kigali on Wednesday.

Uganda’s bowlers laid the foundation for the win, restricting Botswana to 119 for eight in their allotted 20 overs before the chase was completed with five wickets and five overs to spare.

Charles Musemeza anchored the pursuit with a fluent 39 off 25 balls, earning the Man of the Match award as Uganda registered its fifth victory of the tournament.

The result leaves the Cricket Cranes on 10 points from six matches, two behind leaders Kenya and two ahead of Rwanda.

Uganda now faces a decisive test against hosts Rwanda on Thursday before concluding the league phase against unbeaten Kenya on Friday morning.

Only the top two teams will advance to the final.
