In the late kickoff of Matchday 11 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, Express FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over KCCA FC at the MTN-Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Captain Emmanuel Wasswa’s decisive first-half strike proved to be the difference-maker, as the Red Eagles claimed maximum points on the road.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 30th minute, courtesy of Wasswa’s clinical finish. Richard Basangwa’s pinpoint delivery picked out the Express FC skipper, who made no mistake in slotting the ball past the KCCA FC goalkeeper.

In an intense, end-to-end encounter, Express FC demonstrated remarkable organization and defensive solidity, thwarting KCCA FC’s attempts to find an equalizer.

The Kasasiro Boys struggled to create meaningful scoring opportunities, allowing Express FC to deserve their victory.

This triumph marked Express FC’s first away win and second clean sheet of the season.

Notably, it was also their second consecutive away victory against KCCA FC, following last season’s 1-2 win.

KCCA FC’s title aspirations have suffered a significant setback, as their 1-0 loss to Express FC extends their winless streak to four consecutive games.

This dismal run has seen the Kasasiro Boys drop crucial points, and their once-promising campaign is now threatening to unravel.

The result sees Express FC climb to fourth place on the log, level on 19 points with KCCA FC, who remain in third. The Red Eagles now trail the table leaders by just five points.

In their next fixture, Express FC will host URA FC at Nakivubo on December 13, while KCCA FC will visit Wakiso Giants in Wakiso two days later.
