Amus College School demonstrated resilience and championship pedigree, rallying from a deficit to edge St. Micheal High School–Ssonde 33–29 in a pulsating final to retain the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Boys’ Basketball title in Mukono.

In a contest defined by defensive intensity and tactical discipline, neither side managed to establish early dominance, with the opening two quarters ending in deadlock (5–5, 11–11).

St. Micheal seized the initiative in the third period, carving out a slender 19–17 lead heading into the decisive final quarter.

However, the defending champions showcased remarkable composure under pressure, producing a decisive late surge to overturn the deficit and seal victory.

Their disciplined execution in the closing stages ultimately proved the difference in a tightly contested, low-scoring thriller.

The triumph marks Amus College’s second consecutive national title, having claimed their maiden crown last year in Bukedea, further cementing their growing stature in school basketball.

In the third-place playoff, St. Cyprian Kyabakadde delivered a commanding performance to dispatch Seeta A 58–32, securing the final podium position with authority.

Amus College, St. Micheal High School–Ssonde, and St. Cyprian Kyabakadde have all earned qualification to represent Uganda at the forthcoming Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games, scheduled for August in Morogoro, Tanzania.
