Hosts Seroma Christian High School – Mukono delivered a commanding, title-defending performance to dominate the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Swimming Gala, underlining their status as the country’s premier school in the pool.
The championship concluded after a competitive showcase that brought together 186 swimmers from 13 schools across Uganda, alongside a number of individual entrants.
Despite a notable drop in participation from last year’s 450 athletes representing 24 schools, the quality of competition remained high across all four strokes—breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle, and butterfly.
Seroma retained their overall crown in emphatic fashion, amassing 960 points to finish ahead of Aga Khan High School, who pushed them closely with 904 points.
Green Hill Academy completed the podium places with 709 points.
The contest for men’s honours was fiercely contested, ending in a deadlock between Seroma and Aga Khan High School, with both sides tallying 433 points.
However, Seroma’s decisive edge came in the women’s category, where they outscored Aga Khan by 48 points (455 to 407), ultimately sealing the overall championship.
This latest triumph mirrors Seroma’s dominance from the previous edition, where they posted 411 points in the boys’ category and 406 in the girls’, comfortably outpacing their closest challengers.
At the conclusion of the gala, a select team of 30 swimmers was named to represent Uganda at the forthcoming FEASSA Games scheduled for August in Morogoro, Tanzania.
