Prisons Netball Club delivered a commanding performance on Saturday evening to close the gap on leaders KCCA Netball Club in the Uganda Netball Super League, underlining their growing title credentials.
On 25th July, Prisons registered an emphatic 48–31 victory over Busia Greater Lions, a result that lifts them to eight points, just two shy of table-toppers KCCA, who sit on ten.
Crucially, Prisons have played one game fewer, positioning them strongly in the race for the summit.
The day’s action also saw UPDF Netball Club secure a hard-fought 40–35 win over Dynamite Netball Club.
The army side showcased consistency across quarters, edging the contest 12–9 in the first, sharing the second at 19–19, before asserting control in the third (33–28) and sealing victory at 40–35.
In one of the most gripping encounters of the day, Canan Netball Club settled for a 45–45 draw against Police Netball Club.
Canan dominated much of the match, leading 14–10, 25–21, and 35–34 across the opening three quarters.
However, Police rallied in the final stretch, with experience and endurance proving decisive as they clawed back to force a stalemate.
Earlier, Kajjansi Progressive staged a remarkable comeback to edge Busia Greater Lions 45–44 in the day’s opener.
Despite trailing in the first three quarters (9–12, 20–24, 30–36), Kajjansi showed resilience to overturn the deficit and snatch victory in dramatic fashion.
In the men’s division, Patriots Men’s Netball Club cruised to a 44–27 win over International, while Red Star defeated Masaka Netball Club 40–32 to round off the day’s fixtures.
