The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Ball Games II 2026 DanceSport competition has reached a pulsating climax, with the Hip-Hop Crew category narrowing down to the final four following an intense sequence of quarter-final battles at Gulu High School in Gulu City.
In the boys’ category, traditional powerhouses and emerging contenders delivered commanding performances to secure semi-final berths.
Ntare School underlined their pedigree with a flawless 3–0 sweep over St Julian High School, maintaining their dominance after a similarly emphatic Round of 16 victory against St Mary’s College Rushoroza.
Elite High School continued their impressive run, dispatching Masindi Secondary School 3–0 in the quarter-finals, having earlier edged Railway Seed Secondary School 2–1 in a tightly contested Round of 16 clash.
St Balikuddembe Secondary School Mitala Maria showcased resilience and technical precision, overcoming Mbarara High School 2–1 to progress, while Janan Secondary School Bombo stamped their authority with a commanding 3–0 victory over Ntungamo High School.
The semi-final line-up in the boys’ division now pits Ntare School against Elite High School in what promises to be a high-calibre showdown, while St Balikuddembe S.S Mitala Maria await their opponents in the second semi-final.
In the girls’ category, the competition has been equally fierce, with standout performances highlighting the growing depth in school DanceSport.
St Julian High School Gayaza emerged as a dominant force, cruising past St Catherine Girls S.S with a comprehensive 3–0 victory in the quarter-finals after eliminating Y.Y Okot Memorial College by a similar margin in the previous round.
London College of St Lawrence Schools advanced with a hard-fought 2–1 win over Masindi Secondary School, while Bugamba Secondary School and St Marks College Namagoma also impressed en route to the last four.
This year’s DanceSport edition attracted 28 girls’ teams and 29 boys’ teams, with over 340 dancers showcasing flair, rhythm, and competitive excellence—an increase that reflects the sport’s rapid growth since its introduction.
With the semi-finals and finals slated for Thursday, 16th July 2026, anticipation is at its peak as the remaining crews prepare to battle for national supremacy in one of the most electrifying disciplines at the USSSA Ball Games II.
