Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC have bolstered their squad with the signing of midfielder Elvis Ngonde, as the Lugogo-based side intensifies preparations for the upcoming campaign.

The 24-year-old joins the Kasasiro Boys as a free agent following the expiration of his contract at SC Villa, opting for a fresh challenge in pursuit of consistent playing time.

Last season, Ngonde featured in 18 league matches, largely from the bench, prompting his decision to seek a more prominent role elsewhere.

Ngonde’s arrival comes at a pivotal moment for KCCA, who are reshaping their midfield after the departures of key figures.

Joel Sserunjogi is reportedly set to join Vipers SC, while Brian Ijara is on the verge of securing a move to Europe.

These exits open the door for Ngonde to stake his claim as a regular starter.

Calm on the ball and tactically disciplined, Ngonde brings both composure and experience despite his relatively young age.

He has already earned a senior cap with the Uganda Cranes and was part of the national squad that reached the quarterfinals of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN)—a historic milestone for Uganda in the competition.

KCCA confirmed the signing via their official social media channels, welcoming the midfielder to Lugogo as they continue to assemble a squad capable of competing on all fronts.

A product of St. Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende, Ngonde rose to prominence after scoring in the 2022 USSSA Boys’ Football Championship final, helping his school defeat St. Andrew Kaggwa, Gombe to clinch the title.

After finishing second in the Uganda Premier League last season and reaching the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, KCCA FC will be eager to go one better.

The addition of Ngonde signals clear intent as the club eyes domestic silverware in the forthcoming season.
