Kaddugala Secondary School have been crowned champions of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Masaka Zone Girls’ Netball Championship following a hard-fought 21–18 victory over Nile Citizens Kalisizo in a gripping final.

The three-day championship, held from June 26 to 28 at TimothyGirls High School – Kyabakuza, brought together 47 schools competing across eight groups, showcasing the growing competitiveness and depth of school netball within the Masaka region.

A Statement of Intent

Kaddugala’s triumph was not merely about lifting the trophy—it underscored a deliberate and rapid rise of netball at the institution.

Their composed and resilient display in the final highlighted a team built on discipline, structure, and belief.

A significant share of the credit goes to Yahaya Ssengabi, a member of the Netball Uganda Executive Committee and head teacher of Kaddugala Secondary School.

Under his stewardship, the school’s netball programme has undergone a remarkable transformation in a short period.

Earlier this year in April, Kaddugala announced their arrival on the national stage by finishing runners-up at the prestigious UMEA Games in Mbale, narrowly losing 31–30 to Kawanda Secondary School in a heartbreaking final.

Road to Glory

Kaddugala’s path to the title was emphatic:
