The 13th edition of the Kids of Africa Run is set to take place on Sunday, September 7th, 2025, with the theme “Sanitation for the Girl Child.”
The event, which aims to mobilize sanitary pads for vulnerable school-going girls in Entebbe, was launched at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala on Thursday, August 28th, 2025.
The run is organized by Kids of Africa, a non-governmental organization that has been supporting needy communities in Entebbe for 13 years.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Sports, many school girls suffer dire consequences during their menstrual cycles, affecting their education and well-being.
The Kids of Africa Run seeks to address this issue by providing sanitary pads and promoting good menstrual health.
The run will take place on Sunday, September 7th, 2025, with three categories: 5KM, 10KM, and 21KM.
The event will start and finish at Kids Pioneer Primary School, located on Bugiri-Bukasa, off Entebbe Road.
The start time is 7:00 A.M, and the entry fee is Ug.Shs 25,000.
The event has received support from various partners, including Yako Bank, I&M Bank, Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Roko, Multisports, Maersk, DHL, The Lake Side, MMAKS Advocates, Kids Pioneer Primary School, Sai Pali Institute of Technology, Flora Events, and Katabi Town Council.
Miss Uganda (2024-2025) Natasha Nyononzi has also joined the initiative, emphasizing the importance of supporting the girl child.
“We are excited to return this year with the 13th Kids of Africa run that will be held on 7th September 2025.
Preparations are all underway to have a tranquil event.
We thank all the partners that have joined us to see a successful event.
We urge the public to come and run for this noble cause,” said Tage Budolfsen, Director of Kids of Africa.
“I want to thank the local organizing committee for the Kids of Africa run that has helped raise funds towards the improvement of the welfare for the girl child,” remarked His Worship Ronald Kalema Bassamulekere, Mayor of Katabi Town Council.
“I am excited to be part of the Kids of Africa Run 2025 where the key objective is to help the menstrual health of the girl child.
As the Miss Uganda, I am obliged to support such a worthy cause,” said Natasha Nyononzi, Miss Uganda.
