The second edition of the Mukiibi Run is set to take place on August 9, 2026, at London College of St. Lawrence along Masaka Road, building on the success of its inaugural event held in 2025.

Organized by the St. Lawrence Academy Schools and Colleges fraternity, the annual run continues to honor the enduring legacy of the late Professor Lawrence Mukiibi, a revered Ugandan educationist and founder of the St. Lawrence institutions.

Held under the theme “Build the Lab, Run the Future,” this year’s edition blends remembrance with purpose, rallying students, alumni, parents, and the wider community toward a shared cause of advancing education through technology.

Participants will secure running kits at UGX 30,000, with vests expected to be available starting Monday during fellowship gatherings.

For those seeking a premium experience, VIP packages comprising branded T-shirts and caps will go for UGX 100,000.

Distribution points include St. Lawrence of London College and Pope Paul VI Memorial Hotel in Ndeeba, Kampala.

Beyond the run, the event carries a strong philanthropic focus.

Proceeds from kit sales and participation fees will directly fund the construction of a state-of-the-art Cyber Lab, a project aimed at strengthening digital learning infrastructure across the St. Lawrence fraternity.

The initiative will facilitate access to computers and reliable internet, significantly enhancing e-learning opportunities for students.

The Mukiibi Run also serves as a platform to promote health and wellness, encouraging active lifestyles while fostering networking and unity within the community.

As the countdown to August 9 gathers momentum, the 2026 Mukiibi Run stands not only as a tribute to a visionary educator but also as a forward-looking initiative driving innovation, education, and collective well-being.
