The 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Ball Games II Netball qualifiers for Wakiso District commenced today, Wednesday, June 18th, in Wampeewo Zone, Gayaza.

Top contenders Buddo SS, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, St. Mary’s Kitende, and Greenlight Islamic SS – Nansana have made a strong start in the tournament.

Day One Results

Reigning champions St. Mary’s Kitende won two of their day’s games, beating Kajjansi Progressive 23-16 and God Cares 35-08.

St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, the reigning National Rally Champions, registered two wins over Migadde and Devine College, winning 23-09 and 33-08 respectively.

Other notable results include Greenlight Islamic SS’s wins over Mehen Light (32-07) and Wampeewo Ntake (38-05), and Buddo SS’s victories over Light High School (27-11) and Rines (29-14).

Tournament Schedule

The Wakiso Netball championship will continue tomorrow, and the final will be held on Friday, June 20th, in Gayaza.

A record 45 schools are participating in this year’s Wakiso District Qualifiers, pitted into eight groups of five and six.

The top eight schools will qualify for the forthcoming National Ball Games II championship in Tororo due to take place in August this year.
