Cricket Uganda has announced the highly anticipated Victoria Series 2025, a five-match T20 International series featuring the Canada Women’s National Team and Uganda’s senior women’s national team, the Victoria Pearls.

The tournament, scheduled to take place from October 18-27, 2025, at the Lugogo Oval, promises to be an exciting celebration of women’s cricket.

The series is part of the ICC Women’s Cricket Week, highlighting Uganda’s growing presence in global women’s cricket.

Cricket Uganda Honorary Secretary Denis Musali described the series as a historic step for both nations, saying, “We’re excited to host Canada for this landmark series.

It marks the start of a great partnership and gives our players valuable international exposure.

We look forward to a competitive and enjoyable week of cricket, capped by our joint CSR activities during Women’s Cricket Week.”

The Victoria Pearls, ranked 16th in the T20i World rankings, come into this tournament with valuable experience, having participated in several tournaments, including the Women’s Cup, Kwibuka Women’s Cricket Tournament, and ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers.

Head Coach Deus Muhumuza believes the series will help the team fine-tune their preparations for the ICC Women’s Emerging Trophy in Thailand this November. “This series will help us measure our progress in key areas like mental strength, communication, and role execution. It’s the perfect platform ahead of our global campaign.”

Canada’s Cricket Canada CEO Salman Khan praised the collaboration, calling it vital for the growth of women’s cricket worldwide.

“We’re thrilled to send our team to Uganda. The Victoria Pearls are a strong side, and this tour will be a great learning experience for our players as we continue building women’s cricket in Canada.”

Canada’s Head Coach Rizwan Cheema expressed his team’s eagerness for the challenge of new conditions, while captain Amarpal Kaur expressed pride in leading her team on African soil.

“It’s an honour to lead Canada in this series.

Uganda is a strong opponent, and we’re ready to give our best while representing our country with pride.”
