The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has confirmed a 30-member national swimming team to represent the country at the 2026 FEASSA Games slated for August 12–23 in Morogoro, Tanzania.
The squad, balanced with 15 girls and 15 boys was selected following an intensely competitive National Swimming Gala held at Seroma Christian High School on Saturday, July 26.
Selection followed a championship that, despite reduced participation, delivered exceptional technical standards across all four strokes, breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle, and butterfly.
A total of 186 swimmers from 13 schools competed, a noticeable decline from last year’s 450 athletes representing 24 schools, yet the overall quality remained uncompromised.
Hosts Seroma Christian High School reaffirmed their domestic supremacy with a commanding title defence, accumulating 960 points to retain the overall crown.
Aga Khan High School mounted a formidable challenge, finishing close behind with 904 points, while Greenhill Academy secured third place with 709 points.
The men’s category produced one of the most compelling contests of the gala, ending in a rare deadlock as both Seroma and Aga Khan tallied 433 points apiece.
The decisive margin, however, emerged in the women’s division, where Seroma outscored Aga Khan 455 to 407, ultimately sealing the overall championship.
From this competitive pool, USSSA selectors assembled a diverse and promising Team Uganda, blending school-based talent with individual standouts.
