The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has finalized its preparations for the 2026 Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games following the second and final preparatory meeting held at its National Headquarters on Tuesday afternoon, August 2.
The meeting brought together USSSA Executive Committee members, officials from the Ministry of Education and Sports, and Games teachers, all focused on aligning Team Uganda’s readiness ahead of the championship in Morogoro, Tanzania, scheduled from August 12 to 22.
Central to the meeting was the presentation of the roadmap document, which outlined key activities, deadlines, travel logistics, payment requirements, team confirmation processes, and overall preparations leading to the Games.
USSSA Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Mugisha Banage, emphasized the need for strict compliance with established procedures to ensure a smooth and successful campaign.
“I welcome you all to this final FEASSA preparatory meeting and thank you for honouring our invitation.
Our priority is to ensure a safe, organized, and successful journey to the FEASSA Games.
Every team must comply with the travel guidelines and complete all registration and accreditation requirements.
By working together and following the established procedures, we will guarantee a smooth and successful participation for Team Uganda.
The draws will take place on 6 August at the USSSA National Offices.”
Speaking on behalf of USSSA President Justus Mugisha, First Vice President Harriet Apolot commended members for their continued confidence in the leadership following its re-election, while urging unity and early communication in addressing challenges.
“Do not wait until it is too late to seek help if you are facing any challenges. Reach out to those who can support you so that we leave here united as one team.

On behalf of the Commissioner for Physical Education and Sports (PES), Grace Abalo called for discipline, professionalism, and collective responsibility among all participants, stressing the importance of representing the country with integrity.
“As we prepare for the FEASSA Games, I urge all participants to remain disciplined, uphold professionalism, and represent Uganda with pride.
Team leaders must ensure that all travel and health requirements are met, enforce the prescribed dress code, and keep students free from drugs.
Let us work together to uphold the values of Team Uganda and strive for excellence both on and off the field.
Let us continue working together as Ugandans because, when we succeed, we uplift our country.

With the preparatory phase concluded, Team Uganda now shifts focus to implementation as it readies for departure and competition in Morogoro.
