Seven time Uganda Premier League winners Express FC have acquired the services of rock solid Soltilo Bright Stars center back Derrick Ngoobi alias ‘Kingo’

The defence marshal who began his footballing career in 2006 at Luwero based Kikyuusa FC is one of the notable great talents bred by the Buganda Masaza tournament having starred for Bulemeezi Ssaza team.

In 2014, he (Ngoobi Derrick) joined Luwero United FC, spending four seasons with the lower division side prior to a move to Matuga based Bright Stars in 2018.

His arrival at the Wankulukuku based giants is a huge boost to gaffer James Odoch whose side has been depleted by the huge exodus of star players like Murushid Juuko who joined reigning champions Vipers, John Byamukama (Gadafi), Godfrey Lwesibawa, Mustafa Kiraga, Mahad Kakooza, Sadiq Sekyembe, George Senkaaba and goalie Crispus Kusiima.

Team captain Enock Walusimbi Congolese import Eric Kambale on the verge of exit too.

Ngoobi is the 6th signing at the club following the arrival of Benjamin Gakumba from Mbarara University, Bitakazibwa Kada of Kigezi Homeboyz, Yusuf SSsozi who left relegated Police FC, Joseph Data formerly at Vipers SC and Anwar Ntege.
