Vipers SC’s perfect start to the 2021/2022 StarTimes Uganda Premier League was halted with a two-all stalemate by Express FC.

Ceasor Manzoki and Livingstone Mulondo scored for Vipers while Murushid Juuko and Eric Kambale scored for Express FC at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

Vipers went in the driving seat in the 10th minute of the game after Cesar Mankozi tapped in a rebound off a Yunus Sentamu well worked effort that hit the crossbar and came back into play.

Express had a chance in the 15th minute with a slip from the left allowed Musiige a chance to gallop into space down his left side. The wing-back crossed low towards Martin Kizza, but Livingstone Mulondo was there to make a timely interception.

Murushid Juuko made it 1-1 for Express FC with a fantastic header in the 29th minute of the game.

In the 33rd minute, Bobosi Byaruhanga whipped in a looping dropping free kick, but Express FC goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa stretches to punch it over the bar.

Vipers had a penalty appeal turned down in the 37th minute when a Yunus Sentamu header was blocked by an arm from Arthur Kiggundu.

Eric Kambale made 2-1 for the hosts in the added minutes of the first half.

In the 82nd minute, Vipers leveled the matters when Livingstone Mulondo got to the end of Manzoki’s header to beat goalkeeper Mutakubwa.

Vipers is now second on the table with seven points from three games while Express FC is 10th with four points from as many games.
