In a thrilling display of netball prowess, St. Noa Boarding Secondary School-Zana emerged victorious at the Netball Uganda National Rally championship, held at the Busia Greater Lions Netball Arena in Busia from March 21-22.

The Zana-based school showcased exceptional skill and determination, ultimately claiming the top spot.

The championship match saw St. Noa face off against Buddo SS, a team that had earlier defeated them 23-22 in the group stage.

However, St. Noa avenged their loss with a hard-fought 21-20 victory, securing the championship title.

Prior to the final, St. Noa demonstrated their mettle in the semi-finals, outshining rivals St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende in a nail-biting 28-22 tie.

Meanwhile, St. Noa’s junior team faced a tough challenge, losing 20-15 to Buddo SS in the semi-finals and subsequently falling 19-28 to St. Mary’s-Kitende in the battle for bronze.

The tournament’s climax saw St. Noa’s mid-court player, Catherine Diko, being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) due to her outstanding performance throughout the championship.

As the netball season progresses, the stage is set for the fiercely competitive Wakiso region USSSA National Ball games II qualifiers.

The “district of giants” will witness a thrilling showdown between top teams, including Greenlight Islamic Secondary School Nansana, St. Mary’s-Kitende, St. Noa, Buddo SS, and Kawanda SS.
