The Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) Educators’ Course began on Wednesday 13th  December, 2023, at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru.

38 participants from across the country turned up for a five (5) day course.

UYFA chairman Roberts Kiwanuka was pleased to welcome the participants and instructors from Netherlands.

“It is a great honor for youth football coaches to take part in this course. Kiwanuka.

FUFA Technical Director, Ali Mwebe, who graced the opening on behalf of the Federation said that the course was warmly embraced because the country has not been doing well in coach educators.

“The Federation (FUFA) embraced this course because we have not been doing well in the area of coaches’ educators.

We don’t have enough and quality educators and very few are top-level with the numbers also not enough with some regions almost having no resident educator.

This course will give them a chance to have their abilities, qualities, and skills identified. They will not become FUFA Coaches educators right away, but we will identify skills”. Mwebe.

Mark Schuurman from Netherlands is the chief instructor of the course and he is assisted by Ernesto Tunga and Kevin Kanu from Sparta Rotterdam.

The five day course that started on Wednesday 13th will climax on Sunday, the 17th, December 2023.
