After a meticulous selection process, Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) have revealed the final three nominees for the upcoming USSSA Excellence Awards 2023 in each category.

The finalists represent the epitome of talent and dedication in secondary school sports across Uganda.

In this inaugural edition, St. Noa Girls Secondary School, St. Boarding Secondary School, Kibuli SS and Buddo SS dominate the nominees list.

Below are the nominees of different categories
Male Coach of the Year Finalists:
•Kisero Eric – Swimming
•Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi – Football
•Omondi John Mapeesa – Basketball

These coaches have demonstrated exceptional leadership and skill, guiding their teams to success in their respective disciplines.

•Lubowa Harriet – Basketball
•Mugisha Lillian – Swimming
•Bayiga Justin – Athletics
These coaches have not only shaped their teams to victory but have also inspired a new generation of athletes to reach for the stars.

Female Sports Teacher of the Year Finalists:
•Atwesige Marion – Buddo Secondary School
•Kyolaba Grace – St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende
•Alwenyi Alice – Mengo Senior School

These dedicated educators have not only imparted knowledge but have also played a pivotal role in fostering a culture of sports excellence within their schools.

•Mutatwala Ephraim – Hockey (Namilyango College)

These male athletes have shown unparalleled prowess in their respective sports, becoming the pride of their schools.

The winners will be unveiled at the grand gala at the Imperial Royale Hotel on Friday, December 15th, 2023, starting at 2:00 pm.
