NCS, UVF flag off 17-member delegation to Cairo for U20 Africa Nations Championship

The Uganda Volleyball Federation, in conjunction with the National Council of Sports, has flagged off a 17-member delegation to Cairo, Egypt, for the highly anticipated U20 Africa Nations Championship.

The Uganda Men’s U20 national team, affectionately known as the Nile Warriors, bid farewell at Copper Chimney Restaurant in Lugogo, with a sendoff ceremony graced by prominent sports officials.

Moses Chebet, Assistant General Secretary in charge of Technical NCS, Sarah Nankya, Senior Sports Officer NCS and Sadik Nasiwu, President, Uganda Volleyball Federation were present at the flag off.

The U20 Africa Nations Championship, doubling as the U20 World Championship qualifiers, will take place in Cairo from September 11 to 20.

Upon arrival, the team will participate in a technical meeting to confirm entries and draws.

The top three teams will qualify for the 2025 Qatar U20 Men’s World Championship.

Under the guidance of tactician Joshua Osiya, the Nile Warriors are poised to make a mark in the tournament.

Captain El Nino Peterson will lead the team, comprising skilled players who include;
