Crested Cranes attacking midfielder Hadijah Nandago has completed her move to Kenyan champions Kenya Police Bullets, becoming the fourth Ugandan player on the club’s roster as they prepare for the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers.
Nandago joins fellow Ugandans Daisy Nakaziro, Margret Kunihira and Desire Katisi Natooro, further strengthening the Ugandan contingent at the Kenyan powerhouse.
The skilful playmaker has already linked up with the team in Rwanda, where Kenya Police Bullets are preparing for their continental campaign.
Nandago returns to competitive football after spending the period since last year as a free agent following her departure from Indian side Sethu Women FC.
Her arrival provides the Kenyan champions with an additional creative outlet as they seek to enhance their attacking options.
The midfielder brings considerable international experience to the squad, having represented Uganda at U17, senior women’s and Crested Cranes levels.
Her career has also included spells with Sethu Women FC, Kampala Queens and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, alongside a stint in futsal, giving her experience across different formats of the game.
Kenya Police Bullets will be looking to Nandago and their strengthened squad to improve on last year’s continental performance, when they claimed bronze at the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers.
Having finished third last year, the Kenyan champions will now be targeting the ultimate prize and a place at the CAF Women’s Champions League, with Nandago expected to contribute creativity, technical quality and attacking impetus to their pursuit.
