Under the new Minister for Youths, Sports and Arts Ssalongo Robert Sserwanga, the sport is set to be rejuvenated.
This afternoon, on Monday, the 17th June 2024, the minister Ssalongo Robert Sserwanga has launched the first ever edition for Masaza Mweso championship.
The championship will start at sub county levels on 14th to 28th July. At the end of sub-county competition, Masaza teams will be formed from the top performing individuals in respective sub-counties.
The Grand Finale at Masaza (Counties) level will be on 16th November 2024.
To foster easy preparations, a committee of five members has been announced at the same event.
Hudson Kyagaba who is also the Vice Chairman Uganda Mweso Association is named Chairman.
Moses Ssekandi, Godfrey Sserugo, Lydia Ngagire and Fulugyensiyo Kayinga are committee members.
