Ahead of the 2026 Masaza Cup opener, Kyaggwe Ssaza team officially unveiled their season squad in a well-attended ceremony held at Bishops Secondary School grounds on Sunday, 7th June.

A carefully selected 31-man squad—blending seasoned campaigners with promising new entrants—will represent the county in this year’s tournament.

Fresh faces including Joel Byamukama, Peter Kaye, Mande Kisozi, Ronnie Ziraba, Shaban Kayongo, Tony Ssengendo and Lauben Lubwama have been drafted in to reinforce a core group that featured in last year’s campaign.

To mark the occasion, Kyaggwe engaged KCCA FC in a friendly encounter, with the match ending in a goalless stalemate—offering an early glimpse into the team’s defensive organization and cohesion.

Kyaggwe will begin their 2026 campaign on the road against Mawokota on 21st June, before returning home to host Busiro on 28th June in their second fixture.

In the technical bench reshuffle, Ronald Ssali was appointed head coach, replacing Simon Peter Mugerwa.

Ssali will be assisted by Yassa Abdul, Ssekiziyivu Juma and Kyeswa William, while Asadu Bugembe assumes responsibility for goalkeeping duties.

Denis Kizito, popularly known as “Deman Denol,” takes charge as fitness coach, with Muzube Mukiibi Fred completing the backroom staff as welfare officer.

Earlier, Kyaggwe had constituted a formidable administrative structure ahead of the 2026 Buganda Masaza football tournament.

The team is under the patronage of Wilson Mukiibi Muzzanganda and Robert Zikuzooka, director of Rose Foam.

Jimmy Kanaabi serves as chairperson, deputised by Ali Kiwanuka (administration) and the experienced Shaddrach Nsobya (technical).

Fred Mpanga takes on the role of secretary, while Jonathan Ntulume is the team manager, assisted by Samuel Kasasa.

Aisha Lutale Naluzze is entrusted with treasury responsibilities. The medical department is led by Dr. Edward Mukasa, assisted by Norah Nansasi.

Willy Kimera heads safety and security, while CBS Radio and BBS Telefaina sports presenter Peace Diane Bagala oversees public relations.

Former head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa transitions into a technical advisor role, alongside Bernard Bainamani, Mikidad Mulimila and David Kikabi. Edward Kaweesi serves as stadium manager, assisted by Nsobya Lumansi.

Kyaggwe enters the 2026 season with renewed ambition, having fallen short in recent campaigns—finishing runners-up to Buddu in the 2024 final before securing bronze last year.
