Kitara FC secured the biggest win of the 2024/25 season with a resounding 7-0 victory over Express FC at the Royals Park in Butema.

This defeat marked the heaviest loss in Express FC’s league history, surpassing their 6-1 loss to Police in the 2019/20 season.

Striker George Senkaaba led the charge with a hat-trick, while Jude Ssemugabi scored a brace.

Fred Amaku and David Ndihabwe also found the back of the net, contributing to the historic win.

The game began with Senkaaba giving Kitara an early lead in the 3rd minute, courtesy of a header from Solomon Okwalinga’s cross.

Ssemugabi doubled the lead in the 21st minute with a brilliant solo goal, driving the ball from his own half before slotting it past goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa.

Amaku made amends for his missed penalty in the 8th minute by scoring Kitara’s third goal in the 36th minute.

Senkaaba added two more goals in the 58th and 77th minutes, completing his hat-trick. Ssemugabi and Ndihabwe sealed the win with goals in the 78th and 85th minutes, respectively.

This victory marks Kitara’s third consecutive win, having previously defeated Maroons 4-0 and Mbale Heroes 6-0. They have now scored 17 goals in their last three games.

The win propelled Kitara to 9th place on 17 points, level with Police, UPDF FC, and SC Villa. They will face Wakiso Giants and host SC Villa in their final first-round games when the league resumes next month.
