Kigezi HomeBoyz have parted ways with head coach Joseph Harold Mutyaba after a difficult start to their maiden Uganda Premier League campaign.
The club confirmed the separation by mutual consent following Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Western rivals Kitara FC, a result that left the newly promoted side with just one point from their opening four matches.
Mutyaba was appointed during the club’s preparations for top-flight football, succeeding Sadik Ssempijja, who guided HomeBoyz to promotion.
He was joined on the technical bench by assistant coach Keefa Kisaala.
However, HomeBoyz’s transition to the Premier League has been complicated by both results and logistical challenges.
The club were forced to abandon their preferred Al Madina Stadium in Kabale after failing to meet FUFA licensing requirements, leaving them to play their home fixtures at Rwamwanja Stadium in Kamwenge.

Their league campaign began with a narrow 2-1 defeat away to Lugazi FC at Najjembe Stadium on August 29.
Their scheduled home encounter against defending champions Vipers was subsequently postponed as the Venoms were engaged in the CAF Champions League.
HomeBoyz then secured their first—and so far only—Premier League point on September 8 after holding KCCA FC to a goalless draw at Rwamwanja.
The early optimism quickly faded, however, as SC Villa handed them a 3-0 defeat at Muteesa II Memorial Stadium, Wankulukuku, on September 15.
With hopes of a fresh start after the international break, HomeBoyz instead suffered another setback against Kitara, who edged them 1-0 in Hoima on October 7.
The defeat appears to have accelerated the club’s decision to make a change in the technical area, with Kisaala now entrusted with the interim head-coach role.

Kisaala’s immediate task will be to steady the team ahead of another home fixture against NEC FC on October 14 as HomeBoyz seek to arrest their difficult start and find a foothold in their first season among Uganda’s top-flight elite.
