A single moment of composure separated triumph from heartbreak as Buwambo United Football Club etched their name into the 2025–26 Buganda Region League history books with a slim 1-0 win over UWA.

With the title hanging in the balance and parity on 64 points with UWA Football Club, the finale demanded perfection. Buwambo found it when it mattered most.

The contest unfolded as a fierce tactical duel, shaped by disciplined defensive lines and relentless physical exchanges.

Clear opportunities were scarce, and every inch of the pitch was contested with urgency befitting a championship decider.

The defining breakthrough arrived shortly after the interval.

Abubakali Kalungi timed his intervention to perfection, delivering a clinical finish ten minutes into the second half to tilt the contest irreversibly.

It was a goal of both precision and consequence—one that ignited the terraces and placed Buwambo firmly on course for glory.

From that point, resilience defined the champions. Buwambo absorbed pressure with maturity, closing out the contest with defensive authority to secure a narrow but decisive 1–0 victory.

Beyond the result, the occasion itself carried weight.

A capacity crowd, rare at this level, transformed the venue into a cauldron of noise and colour, underlining the growing significance of regional football within the community.

For UWA Football Club, the defeat will sting, yet their campaign remains one of consistency and quality. They depart the season with credit intact and the promise of a strong return.

Attention now shifts to the next frontier. Buwambo United advance to the inter-region promotional playoff, where Kampala Region champions Black Stars FC await.

With momentum firmly on their side, the Buganda champions stand one step away from elevation to the Big League—an ascent that now feels within reach.
