Ugandan teenage forward Sylivia Kabene has taken a significant step in her burgeoning career, sealing a move to Mġarr United Women FC, one of Malta’s most formidable sides in the Assikura Women’s Football League.

The 19 year old Kabene’s transfer—brokered by Sepuya Inc Agency—opens the door to UEFA Women’s Champions League football in the 2026/27 season, placing her on one of the game’s most competitive stages.

The move follows an outstanding debut campaign in Malta, where Kabene quickly emerged as one of the league’s most clinical attackers.

Despite featuring in only 11 matches, she delivered an impressive return of 12 goals and four assists, finishing as the joint fourth-highest scorer.

Her decisive contributions played a key role in keeping Hibernians Women FC among the league’s leading contenders, while simultaneously drawing interest from top clubs across the country.

Mġarr United’s stature as a dominant force in Maltese women’s football offers Kabene a platform to compete for domestic honours while testing herself against elite European opposition in Champions League qualifiers—an opportunity that aligns perfectly with her rapid development.

Kabene’s rise from grassroots football in Uganda with St Noa Girls Football Club to the European stage underscores a journey defined by resilience, discipline, and ambition.

She continues to break new ground for Ugandan women’s football, serving as a beacon for emerging talent back home.

Her latest move also reflects Sepuya Inc Agency’s sustained commitment to expanding international opportunities for African players, providing structured pathways for elite prospects to thrive both on and off the pitch.

As Kabene embarks on this promising new chapter, expectations are high that her talent and drive will translate seamlessly onto an even bigger stage.
