The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ball Games II Netball championship has reached quarter-final stage.

St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School – Kitende, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, Buddo SS and Kawanda SS are the usual giants into the Quarter-finals.

St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana won 13-07 and 14-11 to register a 27-18 victory against Nile Citizens to advance to the next round.

In an all Islamic clash, the Nansana based Greenlight Islamic School eased past sleeping giants Kibuli in a 22-18 victory to storm last eight.

 

Greenlight won 14-06 in the first quarter. However, Kibuli won the second quarter 12-08 of the game to make an overall score of 22-18 in favor of Greenlight.

In the other clash of the day, St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School – Kitende beat Masaka’s Kaddugala SS to win 28-17.

Kitende won 13-10 in quarter one before sealing the victory with a 15-07 score in the final quarter.

Kawanda SS beat debutants Namagabi 32-17 while St. Kalemba won 21-18 against St. Francis Busunju.

Meanwhile, it was 11-10 and 12-09 for Buddo SS in quarter one and two respectively as the Wakiso Region second ranked side won 23-19 to progress to the last eight.

Masaka’s Bakhita won 21-19 against a resilient Fortportal SS. The contest was another interesting tie of the round.

In the quarter-finals, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana will face Kampala regional champions Baptist High.

St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School will lock horns with Greenlight Islamic School while Kawanda SS lock horns with St. Kalemba.

In the other quarter-final, Buddo SS will take on Bakhita in the battle for semi-final slots.
