Mpindi 1 (7) – 1 (6) Ngeye

The 2023 Bika Football Competition reigning champions Ngoonge have been eliminated from the championship at quarter final stage.

The quarter-finals were played on Wednesday, 29th May at Kabaka Kyabaggu and Mutesa II Wankulukuku stadium.

Mpindi, Nkima, Omutima Omusagi and Ngabi Nsamba,  are the four teams that qualified to the semi-finals.

Holders Ngoonge were defeated 4-5 by Nkima in post-match penalties following a one-all draw in the normal time

Sharif Kimbowa scored for Ngoonge whilst, Robert Ssentongo equalized for Nkima to send the game into decisive penalties.

However, Ngoonge finished with ten men following Ronald Ssekiganda’s send off for a second bookable offence.

Omutima Omussagi eliminated a star studded Mbogo by a slim 1-0 win at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

Junior Lusaggi scored the all important goal as Omutima Omusagi overcame Mbogo 1-0 to advance to this edition’s semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Ngabi Nsamba shootout Mmamba Kakoboza 4-2 in post match penalties.

The normal time ended 1-1 at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku stadium.

SC. Villa forward Hakim Mutebi scored for Mmamba Kakoboza in the 64th minute.

Meanwhile, Samson Kasozi grabbed and equalizer for Ngabi Nsamba with four minutes to end the game.

Mpindi eliminated Ngeye in yet Another shootouts decided tie.

After a normal time one goal apiece, Mpindi won 7-6 via penalties to reach semi-finals.

Edward Kawooya scored Nyege’s goal in normal time with Ronald Mugalu netting the equalizer for Mpindi.

The semi finals will be played on Sunday 2nd June 2024 at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku stadium ahead of the grand finale on 8th June 2024.
