Playing in front of a mediocre crowd dominated by students, Ngabi Nsamba have won this edition’s Bika Football Competition following their slim 1-0 win over Mpindi.

The thrilling and highly contested final was held on Saturday, the 8th June 2024 at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku.

Finishing from a fabulous combination between Bruno Bunyaga who released Matovu Maluda to lay in a good cross, Viane Sekajugo Ssamula scored the only goal of the game.

The goal came too early into the 7 minutes of the game.

This becomes Ngabi Nsamba 5th  championship. They won in 1951, 1987, 2007 and lately in 2013.

Meanwhile Mpindi won Bika shield in 1996 and 2006.

To reach this year’s final, Ngabi Nsamba eliminated Omutima Omusaggi in a 2-1 victory at the Semi-final stage.

Bruno Bunyaga’s brace inspired Ngabi Nsamba past resilient Omutima Omusaggi. Fahim Ssaka scored for Omutima Omussagi.

Meanwhile Mpindi beat Nkima 1-0 in the semis. Ronald Sembuya’s 47th minute strike was enough for the two time champions Mpindi to storm this year’s final.

Ngabi Nsamba have pocketed a prize money of UGX.9,000,000 while Mpindi walked away with UGX.7,000,000.

Meanwhile, Omutima Omusaggi labored past resilient Nkima to win one zero in the third place classification match.

Shakib Mayanja scored a beauty to inspire Omutima Omusaggi to a slim 1-0 win.

Having finished third, Omutima Omusaggi smiled home with UGX.5,000,000 while fourth place Nkima took UGX.3,000,000.
