Tunisia will face Burkina Faso in the quarter-final of the Africa Nations Cup after their spirited triumph in the round of 16 ties.

Youssef Msakni strike was enough for Tunisia to upset 10 man Nigeria at ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.

From over 30 yards, Youssef Msakni beat Super Eagle’s goalie Maduka Okoye with a long-range strike only two minutes (47) into the second stanza.

In the 66th minute, Nigeria suffered a huge blow when their forward Alex Iwobi was sent off following a video assistant referee review.

Despite losing twice in the group stage to debutants Gambia and Mali, Tunisia was too good for the three time champions Nigeria who won all their games against all time champions Egypt, Sudan and Guinea Bissau.

The 2004 Nations Cup champions Tunisia’s win against Nigeria, confirmed that they will face Burkina Faso in the last eight on Saturday, 29 January.

Burkina Faso beat 10-man Gabon  on penalties to reach the quarter-finals after a 1-all draw.

Burkina Faso captain Bertrand Traore who had missed a penalty before, slotted in the opener for his side in the 28th minute.

Gabon who had their player Sidney Obissa sent off in 67 minutes, leveled matters in the 91st minute when Ecuele Manga’s header from Denis Bouanga’s cross deflected in for a dramatic equalizer.
