The official draw for the 2026 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games Netball Championship has been conducted at the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) headquarters in Kampala, unveiling a compelling group-stage lineup ahead of this year’s championship in Morogoro, Tanzania.
Defending champions St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School, Kitende headline Group A, where they will confront a balanced yet potentially volatile quartet comprising Uganda’s debutants LICOKA, Kenya’s Bukdkholi, and Tanzania’s Mkolani.
Kitende enter the tournament with pedigree and pressure in equal measure, having clinched last year’s crown with a commanding 53–39 victory over Buddo Secondary School in Kakamega, Kenya.
LICOKA’s inclusion adds an intriguing subplot to Group A.
The Ugandan side steps onto the regional stage for the first time, earning a late call-up following Buddo SS’s withdrawal despite qualifying as Uganda’s second representative.
Their participation introduces an element of unpredictability in a group already anchored by the reigning champions.
Group B presents a numerically heavier and tactically diverse pool, featuring five teams.
Uganda’s Hamdan Islamic Secondary School and St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana will carry national hopes against a cross-border contingent that includes Andersen (Kenya), Mbeya and Vwawa (Tanzania).
The expanded group structure is expected to test squad depth and adaptability, with more fixtures and shorter recovery windows likely to influence outcomes.
This year’s edition will run from August 12 to 22 in Morogoro, bringing together nine competing schools—four from Uganda, three from Tanzania, and two from Kenya.
The tournament continues to serve as East Africa’s premier platform for school sport excellence, blending emerging talent with established powerhouses in a highly competitive environment.
