The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Wakiso District Netball Qualifiers have surged into the business end, with traditional powerhouses asserting dominance as the competition narrows to the final eight.

Defending champions St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School, Kitende delivered a statement performance in the round of 16, dismantling Emirates College 45–10 in a one-sided affair that reaffirmed their title credentials.

Their reward is a quarter-final showdown against a resilient Kajjansi Progressive side, who secured a composed 30–18 victory over Fairway High School.

Last year’s finalists, Buddo Secondary School, also stamped their authority with a commanding 32–12 win over Mehan.

However, their path to the semi-finals is far from straightforward, as they prepare to face Greenlight Islamic Secondary School, Nansana.

Greenlight were pushed to the limit in their round of 16 clash, edging Merryland 17–13 in a tightly contested encounter that highlighted their defensive discipline.

St. Noa Girls Secondary School, Zana continued their impressive run with a convincing 33–15 triumph over Rines Secondary School.

They now turn their attention to Light College Katikamu, who booked their quarter-final slot with a 24–12 victory against Boston High School.

Elsewhere, Kisozi High School and Kawanda Secondary School quietly progressed with hard-fought wins and will now lock horns in what promises to be a finely balanced quarter-final contest.

With the quarter-finals scheduled for this morning, anticipation is building for a high-intensity day of netball at Champions Stadium, Mwererwe.

The semi-finals will follow in the afternoon, culminating in the grand finale later in the evening—where Wakiso’s finest will battle for supremacy and the coveted national slots.
