Three-time Airtel Masaza Cup champions Bulemeezi Ssaza have officially unveiled their squad for the 2026 season in a colourful ceremony held at Kosovo Grounds, Kasana in Luweero.

A 29-man roster comprising highly talented players drawn from various Masaza teams was presented to fans on Wednesday afternoon. Alongside the playing unit, an eight-member technical team led by head coach Leo Ssekamatte was also introduced.

The event was presided over by the county chief (Kangawo) Ronald Mulondo and the team’s bankroller, Frank Mutalaga, who also serves as the patron.

Speaking at the unveiling, Mutalaga expressed strong belief in the team’s prospects this season.

“This year’s Bulemeezi is poised for greatness. With the squad assembled, every team will now look up to us,” he stated.

However, he issued a stern warning to supporters regarding discipline and conduct.

“I want to see a peaceful fan base. I will not hesitate to walk away from a team with violent supporters. I cannot be associated with an environment where vulgar language is the norm,” Mutalaga cautioned.

Bulemeezi, champions in 2012, 2019, and 2023, endured a disappointing campaign last year after failing to progress beyond the group stages.

The new squad signals a renewed ambition to reclaim their status among the competition’s elite.

This year’s tournament is fast approaching, with the official opener slated for 13th June in Mubende, where reigning champions Buwekula will face Kyadondo.

Addressing the gathering, Kangawo Ronald Mulondo urged the players and technical staff to draw inspiration from global football narratives.

“After a 22-year trophy drought, the celebrations, energy, and joy that followed Arsenal’s triumph were felt worldwide. Bring that same passion, happiness, and winning spirit to our people,” he remarked.

Bulemeezi have been drawn in the competitive Masengere group alongside Kyaggwe, Busiro, Gomba, Ssese, and Mawokota.

They will kick off their 2026 campaign with an away fixture against Ssese at Lutoboka on 20th June.
