In a decisive move to bolster its football programme, St. Mark High School Kayunga has appointed the highly regarded Felix Kawooya Ssekabuuza as its new head coach.

The school’s administration, confident in his vision and pedigree, has signed him to a two‑year contract, signalling a firm commitment to sporting excellence and the development of its student‑athletes.

A CAF B‑licensed tactician, Ssekabuuza brings a wealth of experience.

He most recently guided St Julian High School to their maiden Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys’ football national championship, where they defeated Amus College School 3‑0 after penalties in Masaka.

Earlier, he led Buweekula Ssaza to their first ever Buganda Masaza Cup triumph, beating Ssingo Ssaza at Hamza Stadium, Nakivubo.

For three consecutive seasons, St. Mark High School Kayunga has qualified for the Mukono zone but fell short of reaching the national finals—most recently bowing out in the quarter‑finals to Mehta Secondary School (1‑0).

Ssekabuuza’s immediate goal is to steer the team through that barrier and deliver an historic national showpiece.

The 2026 USSSA U20 Boys Football tournament is slated to be hosted by Lira Town School, offering the new coach a prominent platform to showcase his vision.

With this appointment, St. Mark High School Kayunga looks poised to translate ambition into achievement on the pitch.
