KAVC clinches thrilling 2025 NSSF KAVC International Volleyball championship title

The 2025 NSSF KAVC International Volleyball Championship concluded with a thrilling men’s finale at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium in Kampala.

Hosts Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) emerged victorious, defeating Equity Volleyball Club (Kenya) in a nail-biting 3-1 encounter.

KAVC took an early lead, winning the first set 25-22 in a closely contested match.

However, Equity Volleyball Club fought back, claiming the second set with the same score to level the match at 1-1.

KAVC regained control, winning the third set 25-17 and sealing the victory with a 29-27 win in the fourth set.

In the semifinals, KAVC staged an impressive comeback, defeating KCCA Volleyball Club 3-2.

Meanwhile, Equity edged Chema (Kenya) 3-2 in a closely contested match, winning the deciding set 16-11.

The three-day tournament drew 46 teams from six countries, transforming Lugogo into a regional volleyball hub.

The championship featured a total prize money of 46 million shillings for both men’s and women’s categories.

The winners, KAVC, took home 10 million shillings, while the runners-up, Equity, received 8 million shillings, and the third-place finishers pocketed 5 million shillings.
