The Uganda Cranes secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Guinea in their 2024 African Nations Championship match at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Coach Morley Byekwaso made several changes to the starting lineup, introducing Reagan Mpande, Herbert Achai, Karim Watambala, and Hillary Mukundane, who all played crucial roles in the team’s success.

The match began with Uganda dominating possession and creating scoring opportunities.

Allan Okello was instrumental in giving Guinea’s backline a tough evening with his brilliant playmaking.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 30th minute when Reagan Mpande nodded home a well-crafted header from Joel Sserunjogi’s delivery.

The goal was a testament to Uganda’s attacking prowess and set the tone for the rest of the match.

Despite Guinea’s efforts to level the playing field after the break, Uganda maintained their lead and extended it in the 58th minute.

Okello was fouled in the area, and after a VAR check, Uganda was awarded a penalty.

Okello calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net, doubling Uganda’s lead.
