The 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Ball Games II championships have officially commenced, bringing together talented young school going athletes from across the country.

The event, which got underway today, July 10th, will feature a diverse range of sports disciplines, showcasing the skills and prowess of Uganda’s secondary school students.

It’s a massive turn up sighted in the arrival of teams at both Tororo Girls and St. Peter’s College.

A Diverse Range of Sports Disciplines

The championships will feature competitions in 18 sports disciplines, including Netball, Rugby 7s, Athletics, Basketball 3X3, U16 Football & Basketball, Handball, Volleyball, Mind Games, Beach Volleyball, Beach Soccer, Woodball, Ludo, Lacrosse, and Dance Sport.

Notably, Futsal will make its official debut in USSSA National competitions, adding an exciting new dimension to the games.

Demonstration Tournaments

In addition to the main sports disciplines, demonstration tournaments will be held in Gymnastics and Baseball and Softball.

These events will provide a platform for students to showcase their skills and talents in these sports, potentially paving the way for their inclusion in future USSSA National championships.

A Celebration of Sports and Excellence

The USSSA National Ball Games II championships will commence tomorrow, following today’s arrivals and draws, and will culminate on July 19th.

The event promises to be an exciting celebration of sports and excellence, with talented young athletes competing for top honors in their respective disciplines.

The championships will be hosted by St. Peter’s College and Tororo Girls in Tororo City, with the participating teams already arriving at the co-host schools, generating a buzz of excitement and anticipation.
