KCCA FC has confirmed the signing of a two-year contract extension with versatile defender Filbert Obenchan.

The deal, which was finalized after negotiations, will see Obenchan complete a decade with the Lugogo-based side, having already spent nine years with the club.

Commitment to the Boyhood Club

Obenchan, a product of the KCCA Soccer Academy, had attracted interest from South Sudan giants Jamus SC.

However, he has opted to stay at his boyhood club, demonstrating his commitment and loyalty to KCCA FC.

The defender rejoined KCCA FC in 2022 on a three-year contract after initially choosing not to renew his previous deal.

A Decorated Career

During his time at KCCA FC, Obenchan has won several prestigious titles, including the CECAFA Clubs Cup in 2019, the Uganda Premier League title in the 2018/19 season, and the FUFA Super 8 Cup.

He has also had a loan stint at UPDF FC, gaining valuable experience and exposure.

New Signings

The contract extension comes as KCCA FC continues to bolster its squad with new signings.

The club has already announced the arrivals of forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe from URA FC and defender Lazaro Bwambale from Kitara FC.

These new additions are expected to strengthen the team’s lineup and enhance their chances of success in the upcoming season.
